GREETINGS!

Each year the City of White Rock welcomes guests from all across Canada, and indeed, the world.

White Rock offers something for everyone. You can bundle up and enjoy a quiet stroll along our famous waterfront and historic pier, or escape from the cold and pamper yourself at one of White Rock's luxurious day spas.

If you're passionate about shopping, I'd like to remind you that White Rock is a unique destination shopping area. Come spend time browsing through our one-of-a-kind art galleries, gift & specialty stores.

A trip to White Rock would not be complete without a meal at one of our many upscale cafes and restaurants. Eating dinner by candlelight, while watching the sunset over the water is one of my favourite ways to end the day.

This winter, I would personally like to invite you to join us for the day and take advantage of our free waterfront parking from Monday to Thursdays now thru February 28, 2010.

To learn more about what is happening in our community, I encourage you to visit the City's website at www.city.whiterock.bc.ca

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

JANUARY 23 TO APRIL 23 - White Rock Museum and Archives presents "Exotique", a show of new art by Katherine Siemens, running through March at the museum, at 14970 Marine Drive.

Siemens, inspired by the art deco aesthetics of the 1920s and 1930s, brings an exotic twist to a timeless era.

Mixed-media works combine gold leaf and antique lace with dancers and dragons, plus Asian tables, feathered frans, parasols and Buddhist shrines pulled by artist from the museum’s Maccaud-Nelson collection of exotica.

The result is an appealing mix of art and culture, which highlights new work alongside some of the treasures of the museum’s collections.

Admission is free. For more information, call 604-541-2222.
